AQUITANIA SOL DE SOL PINOT NOIR 750 ML
AQUITANIA SOL DE SOL PINOT NOIR 750 ML
After observing the high quality we had achieved with our SOLdeSOL Chardonnay in Traiguén, Malleco Valley, in 1998 we continued with another short-cycle variety suitable for cool climates, Pinot Noir. It should be noted that at that time there were no other vineyards in the region.
Vineyard characteristics (age, soils, etc.): These vineyards were planted between 1998 and 2002 in deep, red clay soils of volcanic origin that have good water retention. Even so, in summer, very controlled drip irrigation is sometimes necessary because between December and March there is practically no rainfall and daytime temperatures can reach 30 degrees Celsius. This, combined with the southerly wind, contributes to the vines' dehydration. Nights are always cold, resulting in a significant temperature range.
Elaboration: The grapes are harvested by hand in 10 kg boxes. They are then transported by truck overnight to the Viña Aquitania winery in Santiago. The low temperatures during the harvest season, in early May, combined with the fact that the grapes are packed in 10 kg boxes, ensure they arrive chilled and in perfect condition.
