THE PLACE

This vineyard, planted at 1100 meters above sea level in the highest part of the Tunuyán River alluvial fan, reflects the distinctive character of Paraje Altamira. Its soil rests on countless stones and large granite boulders covered in limestone, with a complexity found only near the Andes. Hidden corners of each estate possess such a distinct identity that they stand out from the rest. This wine originates from a small 0.93-hectare plot located in the northwest section of the estate. In this unique and irreplaceable corner of the vineyard, the Malbec vines grow on soil entirely composed of alluvial stones covered in limestone.

HARVEST

The 2019 vintage was exceptional, cool, and dry. Temperatures were below average, and there was a significant temperature range. These weather conditions resulted in excellent natural acidity, well-structured tannins, superb fruit, and no over-ripening.
