Chivas Regal XV is a 15-year-old Scotch whisky released in 2018, finished in casks that previously held Grande Champagne Cognac. Whisky makers are increasingly using cognac casks for maturation these days, and we consider it a wonderful trend, as it helps to highlight the vibrant fruit notes and rich oak.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Powerful notes of orange and peach, backed by juicy barley.
Palate: caramel, red apple and caraway. A touch of grain sweetness in the background.
Final: Heavy vanilla and pear in the finale.

Cask

Chivas Regal XV is a blend that has matured for at least 15 years, beginning its aging in ex-bourbon American oak barrels and then spending time (cask finished) in oak casks that previously held cognac. For this, they haven't used just any casks, but rather casks from Grande Champagne, the region that produces some of the world's finest cognacs.

Chivas Regal 15 Year Old is an elegant and sophisticated whisky that is ideal for sipping neat or in high-end cocktails. With its balanced and complex flavor, it is an excellent accompaniment to red meats, strong cheeses, and rich desserts.
