Founder's Collection honors Francisco Undurraga and his family, who founded Viña Undurraga 135 years ago. The entire legacy of quality, tradition, consistency, and excellence is captured in a single bottle. Grown in small, specially selected plots, only the finest bunches are chosen for these wines. It represents our history of winemaking and viticulture, being a wine in a more traditional Bordeaux style. Colchagua Estate, Colchagua Valley. The soils are sedimentary, with medium textures, ranging from loam to clay loam, and are well-drained.

Tasting notes

It is a deep red color with violet hues. This vintage had fresher characteristics than the previous one, favoring the expression of the classic Carmenere character. Fresh and spicy notes predominate, with aromas of black and white pepper and mint mingled with a fruity profile highlighting aromas of raspberry and blackberry. On the palate, it is juicy and crisp, with soft tannins and subtle hints of dark chocolate and nutmeg resulting from its aging in oak. Medium-bodied, long and silky, with a lingering finish. Easy to drink.

Cask

Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, where 25% corresponds to new barrels and the rest to second use barrels.
