Here we have Forest Reserve, a 10-year-old single malt from the Aberlour distillery! It spent most of its aging in bourbon and sherry casks before being finished in French Limousin oak barrels. It's called Forest Reserve because of the distillery's commitment to conserving the forest in the Speyside region where the distillery is located.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: fresh oak, with lemon blossom, orange peel and strawberry jam, with a hint of vanilla.

Palate: Melon leads to the sweetness of caramel, praline and raisins, with oak vanilla and dried herbs.

Finishing touch: candied ginger and black pepper, with oatmeal and raisin cookies.

Cask

Aberlour 10 Year Old Forest Reserve, true to the Aberlour Single Malt signature, is crafted through double maturation in oak casks that previously held Bourbon and Sherry. A portion of this Single Malt is then aged in French oak barrels, imparting complex and perfectly balanced flavors.

Pairing

It is best enjoyed on its own, with a little water or with ice to release its complex aromas and flavors.
