The main difference between this expression and others from the brand is that the blend uses a higher proportion of whiskies aged in sherry casks. Chivas Regal Extra uses the brand's iconic bottle, enhancing the reddish tones on the label.

Tasting Notes

We find strong notes of oak and hints of sherry. There are also notes of pear and peach, with touches of dried fruit. A light smokiness, with notes of caramel and marzipan. Creamy in body, it enters the palate smoothly, with notes of dried fruit, marzipan, and caramel. It continues with a spicy burst, with prominent notes of ginger and cinnamon. Sweet notes of vanilla and almond mingle with hints of orchard fruit. As the spicy burst of Chivas Regal Extra softens, we move to sweeter, more balanced notes. The finish is short and dry, with light notes of dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Chivas Regal Extra is a light and fresh whisky that balances the spicy touches with the fruity notes.

Cask

Chivas Regal Extra combines whiskies aged in selected oak casks, which have matured for at least 13 years to develop their complexity and smoothness.

Pairing

It is best enjoyed on its own, with a little water or with ice to release its complex aromas and flavors.
